LMP * Another successful Summer Tour! 2003!
This year’s adventures included club and festival
performances from Durango, Colorado to Dayton, Ohio and many, many places
inbetween . . . Little
Mary would like to thank Billy Ebeling and the Late for Dinner Band for great
shows at Stu’s Midtown Tavern- Lawrence, KS, Blayney’s of Westport- KC, MO and
‘Blue Sunday’ Concert in the Park Series-Downtown, KC, MO. This tour could not have happened without
Billy Ebeling and his fine bluesician line-up!
Billy Ebeling is a full-band all on his own; a seasoned performer and
musician on guitar, piano, harmonica and and his very own, funky style of
accordion. Any music enthusiast MUST
see Billy Ebeling when in the area!
Also, thanks to Tim Mahoney
(lead guitar and band director
from
‘Little Mary and her Hometown
Boogie Kings’).
Tim Mahoney joined Little Mary in
Kansas, Missouri
and Nebraska for both the
full-band shows and a portion
of the acoustic shows. His tasty electric and acoustic
guitar stylings stole the hearts
of long-time Little Mary
fans in those states! What surprizes will be in store for

The ‘Year of the Blues’ continues . . .
In September of 2002, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution
(SR-316), proclaiming the blues as a national historic treasure AND naming 2003
as the Year of the Blues! J This
official ‘Year of the Blues’ began on February 1st, 2003. Resolution
316 acknowledges the Blues as an important documentation of African-American
culture in the twentieth century, while emphasizing the education of young
people on the ‘roots’ of the music they listen to today. Thanks to the Experience Music Project (EMP)
and the Blues Foundation for their hard work in getting this resolution
passed. Martin Scorsese presents THE BLUES on PBS; a
seven-part television series including performances and historical footage of
Taj Mahal, Loud Reed, Lucinda Williams, Los Lobos, B.B. King, Bobby Rush,
Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters and many, many more! This
seven-part television series begins on Sunday, September 28th on
your local PBS station. For more information regarding these film
listings and other related events for this ‘Year of the Blues’, please visit www.pbs.org/previews/TheBlues,

Also, in celebration of this ‘Year of the Blues’
Little Mary continues to feature a special segment, ‘Women’s History of the
Blues’ in her acoustic shows. This
segment highlights “moments” and “music” from the women who have contributed to
over a century of music history; covering timelines from the 1850’s to the
1980’s. Stay in touch with the website
